Drive by Wire: NoDrive by Wire: The throttle opening is controlled by the Engine Control Unit (ECU) based on a variety of input parameters including the position of the throttle pedal. Most drive by wire vehicles use a Torque Demand Strategy that adjusts engine parameters to produce a given amount of torque for each pedal position. Improving fuel ignition and combustion in drive by wire vehicles that utilize a Torque Demand Strategy will produce better throttle response and reduced fuel consumption but peak torque and horsepower will be limited by the ECU.
Stock Tune: YesStock Tune: Factory tunes are designed to provide a compromise between performance, fuel consumption, reliability and emissions throughout the life of the vehicle with a wide tolerance for fuels and degradation of wear items like spark plugs. A vehicle that is using a stock tune may or may not see an increase in HP or torque from the combustion efficiency delivered by Pulstar Spark Plugs. Instead, a stock tuned vehicle using Pulstar Spark Plugs might benefit from reduced emissions or better fuel economy.

Performance tunes adjust the compromise to favor performance and optimize for the conditions at the time of the tune. Performance tunes optimized with conventional spark plugs will sometimes show little to no performance change with improved combustion efficiency and will need to be re-tuned to benefit from the installation of Pulstar Spark Plugs. Additionally, a performance tune will allow the car to see HP and torque gains from Pulstar when output is limited through the use of Drive by Wire.
